ABOUT ESTB

The Egyptian Software Testing Board (ESTB) was founded on December 17, 2008 by a group of software engineering and testing practitioners, consultants, academics, and trainers. ESTB members are native Egyptians, working in leading Egyptian ICT organizations, involved and aware of testing and software process technologies, standards, and best practices.

The Egyptian Software Testing Board (ESTB) was awarded admission as Member Board to ISTQB® on March 26, 2009.

The ESTB has appointed the Software Engineering Competence Center (SECC) as the sole ESTB Examination Institute/Certification Body for the ISTQB® certificates in Egypt.

The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) will act as legal entity for ESTB. ITIDA is a governmental organization developing IT industry in Egypt. ITIDA is significantly financed by the private ICT sector with significant presence of private ICT business representatives on its Board of Directors. ITIDA will not interfere in ESTB decisions.

OBJECTIVES

  • Stand as a body that will certify and accredit software testing practices in accordance with the ISTQB® qualifications
  • Facilitate certification of IT professionals according to the ISTQB® Certified Tester scheme
  • Support and facilitate accreditation of training providers keen to supply courses which meet the ISTQB® Syllabi​​
  • Increase the awareness of and contribute to software testing through organizing events, enhancing academic curricula, publishing research papers, and cooperating and liaising with local and/or international organizations​​
  • Contribute to the ISTQB® scheme through ISTQB®'s working parties​​​​​
